Departing from the lodging place. Going to Joya de Cerén, the most important archaeological discovery of the last 50 years in all Latin America. This place was a Mayan village that shows how the common social Mayans groups lived. The village was preserved by nature when it was buried under layers of ashes from the eruption of a volcano, that is why it is known as the Pompey of America. Joya de Cerén is considered point of first order which is called by someones as the Mayan Route and by others as the Mesoamerican Route. It was declared Patrimony of the Humanity by the UNESCO.
Then we will move to San Andrés, a pre-Columbian ceremonial center where we will be able to appreciate several semi discovered structures (pyramids), some knolls and the historical museum. We will follow our route towards the Colonial City of Santa Ana to visit its historical center, where we will be able to appreciate the Cathedral, Gothic style, constructed at the beginning of the XX century, and the National Palace, constructed at the end of the XIX century, where the Municipal City Hall of Santa Ana is located. Then we will have lunch in a pleasant restaurant of the city. Santa Ana known as the “Heroic city” or “the brown city,” you will learn the history behind the name, also the history of “the 44 men” and the influence that this city has had in the economy of the country, an economy based on the production of coffee. Also it has been cradle of several ex- presidents of the republic. Later we will go towards Chalchuapa, to visit the archaeological sites El Tazumal and Casa Blanca and will be able to admire their pyramids, we will listen on the history of its inhabitants and will have the opportunity to see the vestiges found in the Museums of the sites. Near El Tazumal, there are retorts of original pieces available for sale. In Casa Blanca it is possible to know a little about the process of dyeing fabrics known as indigo; the visitors can participate in the elaboration of some articles. Learn about the historical details related to the area on which the economy of the country was based during almost 300 years. Return to the lodging place.

Salida del lugar de alojamiento. Nos dirigiremos hacia Joya de Cerén, el descubrimiento arqueológico de mayor importancia durante los últimos 50 años en toda América Latina: una aldea Maya que nos muestra cómo vivieron los grupos sociales comunes de los Mayas, fue providencialmente preservado por la naturaleza al ser sepultado bajo las cenizas de la erupción de un volcán, razón por la cual se le conoce como La Pompeya de América. Joya de Cerén es considerada punto de primer orden en lo que unos llaman Ruta Maya y otros Ruta Mesoamericana, fue declarada por LA UNESCO Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Luego nos desplazaremos hacia San Andrés, centro ceremonial precolombino donde podremos apreciar varias estructuras (pirámides) semi descubiertas, algunos montículos y su museo histórico. Seguiremos nuestro recorrido hacia la Ciudad Colonial de Santa Ana para visitar su centro histórico, donde podremos apreciar la Majestuosa Catedral de esta ciudad con un estilo Gótico, construida a principios del siglo XX, y el Palacio Nacional, construido a finales del siglo XIX, donde actualmente funciona la Alcaldía Municipal de Santa Ana.
Luego almorzaremos en un agradable restaurante de la ciudad. Conozca la historia detrás de la llamada “ciudad heroica” o “ciudad morena”, la historia de “los 44”, y la influencia que ha tenido esta ciudad en la economía por el cultivo del café. También ha sido cuna de varios ex presidentes de la república. Después nos dirigiremos hacia Chalchuapa, a visitar los sitios arqueológicos El Tazumal y Casa Blanca y podremos admirar sus pirámides, escucharemos sobre la historia de sus habitantes y tendremos la oportunidad de ver los vestigios encontrados en los Museos de sitio. Cerca de El Tazumal están disponibles réplicas de piezas originales para la venta. En Casa Blanca es posible conocer un poco acerca del proceso del teñido de telas con añil o índigo; los visitantes pueden participar en la elaboración de algunas prendas. Conozca detalles históricos del rubro sobre el cual se basó la economía del país durante casi 300 años. Regreso al lugar de alojamiento.
